PAD PROJECT

In November 2025 we opened 2 micro-factories. One manufacturing washable sanitary pads and the other soap.

There are now 6 women manufacturing high-quality pad kits and we estimate that each year we will be able to reach 5,000 girls and women. On a recent site visit, when Amy asked whether they needed anything else to support their work, there was a resounding request for an overlocker, which would improve both the speed of production and the finish of the products. To make this possible, Loving Humanity is now bringing lighting and electricity to the workshop in the form of solar power so that an electrical overlocker can be installed. Until now, the women have worked entirely with foot-pedal sewing machines.

It was also heart-warming to hear how a consistent income is transforming the women’s lives. Each woman comes from a large family of up to nine people and is the only person in her household earning an income. Not only are they supporting their families, but Nadia is also using her earnings to pay for the education of her younger brother and sister.

The women told us that they are now deeply respected within their village as the breadwinners of their families. It was truly wonderful to hear how they are being seen and valued for the significant contribution they make to both their families and their wider community.
